Luno Fonts is a curated directory showcasing fonts created by independent designers and foundries. We do not claim ownership of any fonts listed on this site. Each font remains the property of its original author and is subject to its respective license terms.

‍Luno Fonts Licensing Terms

These are the general font usage terms that apply to all fonts listed on Luno Fonts. Our goal is to protect the intellectual property rights of font creators while offering flexibility for each author to define their own terms in accompanying license files (e.g., readme.txt or license.pdf).

If a font’s author does not provide their own terms, the following general guidelines apply.

Copyright

All fonts featured on Luno Fonts remain the intellectual property of their respective creators, unless otherwise stated or released into the public domain. Each font is provided as originally licensed by its author.

Personal Use

All fonts may be downloaded and used free of charge for personal projects, provided the usage is not illegal, defamatory, or discriminatory.
Personal use includes:

  • Personal artwork, gifts, and student projects
  • Non-commercial content for personal use only
  • Charitable or community projects not associated with profit

Any usage tied to business, promotion, or monetary gain is considered commercial use.

Commercial Use

For commercial usage, please refer to the included license files within the font download (such as readme.txt or license.pdf).
If no clear license information is provided, commercial use is not permitted without written consent from the font’s creator.

Commercial use typically includes:

  • Branding or logo design for clients or companies
  • Marketing materials, packaging, and merchandise
  • Web, print, or advertising designs used for business purposes

Projects involving over 25,000 reproductions, broadcast media, or app/website embedding may require additional licensing unless explicitly stated otherwise by the creator.

Open Font Licenses (OFL / SIL)

Fonts released under the SIL Open Font License (OFL) or other open-source licenses may be used, modified, and redistributed freely, provided derivatives remain under the same license.
Such fonts can be used in both personal and commercial projects but cannot be resold as standalone font files.

Modification

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, fonts may not be modified, decompiled, adapted, or used to create derivative works without the author’s permission.
Public domain fonts are exempt from this restriction and may be freely altered.

Distribution

Fonts downloaded from Luno Fonts may be shared privately but cannot be resold, republished, or redistributed as standalone files unless permitted by the creator’s own license terms or if the font is in the public domain.

Additional Terms

Some font authors may include their own specific licensing details within the download package. These terms take precedence over Luno Fonts’ general usage guidelines.

All fonts are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. Luno Fonts and the respective font authors are not responsible for any damages or losses that may occur through the use or misuse of the fonts.
